If you’ve been sexually assaulted, Hope House SARC is here to help you. We offer medical care, emotional and psychological support, and practical help to anyone who has been raped or sexually assaulted.
Depending on the type of assault and when it took place we can offer a forensic medical examination to collect evidence. The sooner this can take place the more likelihood there is of retrieving forensic evidence. A crisis worker can talk to you more about this. You may also be at risk of pregnancy or sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and we can help you with emergency contraception and medical care.
The entire service is free and confidential. We will only share your details with other services or agencies with your permission, unless there is a concern that you or anyone else is at risk of serious harm.
If you are under 18 years of age we also work in partnership with the Centre of Paediatric Excellence, located at The Bridge SARC in Bristol, to ensure you receive the best possible care. We also have a legal duty to share your information with social services.
Whatever you decide, it is important to remember that it wasn’t your fault. Sexual violence is a crime, no matter who commits it or where it happens.
Don’t be afraid to get help.
