Occasionally, even when an assault occurred more than 7 days ago, an examination may still be appropriate, for example, if there is an injury, so it is important to contact us.
If the assault happened more than 7 days ago it may not be appropriate to offer you a forensic medical examination. However, we are still here to help you. We will offer you an appointment to attend Hope House SARC, so we can discuss your options with you.
These include medical care (including sexual health and STI testing), emergency contraception, counselling and referral to the Independent Sexual Violence Advisor (ISVA) service.
